Are you thinking of transitioning from a functional role to product management or you are just interested in what the role entails?

Then this panel discussion is meant to help you understand whether a change to product management is the right step for you by sharing the experiences of others who have transitioned into the role.

We'll also talk about ways actually make that transition happen and what are good skills to build and/or have for succeeding in this role.


Our panel will share insights on the leadup to, and the first few quarters of, their transitions to new roles. They will highlight:
- Positive things to look for in product management roles
- Red flags to watch out for in product management roles and their own experiences navigating those red flags
- Skills that do and do not transfer between functional and product management roles

Christian Wasser is a product manager with a focus on user input & retention, currently working in trivago within the Hotelsearch department.

Previously, Christian worked as a Software Engineer and Technical Lead within the same department. During his work as an engineer, he discovered his passion for working closely with different roles and solving user problems with technology.
